EXPEDITION itinerary

DAY 0  BASECAMP • 7,382 FT

Meet in Mexico City, MX early evening to meet the team, welcome dinner, and final equipment check. Overnight at four star property in Mexico City.

DAY 1  MALINCHE HUT – ACCLIMATION • 10,200 FT

The day begins with coffee and quesadillas in the heart of Colonial Mexico as we travel to Malinche National Park to begin our initial acclimatization to higher altitude. Our lodging for the night is a rustic cabin in Malinche National Park where we will begin our Mindful Ascent practice, have dinner around a fire, and unplug from the noise and distraction of our daily lives. Early to bed for an alpine start the following day.

DAY 2  MALINCHE SUMMIT & DESCENT • 14,639 FT

An alpine start gives us an opportunity to ascend Malinche under starlight and experience an expansive sunrise. The ascent, 7.5 miles and 4,200 ft round-trip, travels through woodland, into the alpine, and ends with a scramble to the summit pyramid. A quick descent gives us a return to the cabins for a shower, pack-up, and transport to the base of our next climb in the town of Amecameca at 8,140 ft.

DAY 3  AMECAMECA TO PASO DE CORTES • 12,083 FT

A casual start to the day in the colonial town of Amecameca includes coffee on the square, a bustling marketplace, and the experience of stepping back in time.

Following a series of meditation and embodiment practices and traditional barbacoa tacos we depart for our wilderness camp at Paso de Cortes at the base of our next climb, Iztaccihuatl.

DAY 4  PASO DE CORTES – IZTACCIHUATL • 12,083 FT – 17,160 FT

An alpine start puts us on the summit ridge of Iztaccihuatl at sunrise for spectacular transition from endless stars, to the distant city lights of Mexico City, to an unbelievable sunrise light show with the active volcano of Popocatepetal in the background – truly astounding!

Our descent from Ixta returns us to our base camp for recovery, quesadillas, cold cervezas. Overnight at Paso de Cortes.

DAY 5  PASO DE CORTES – TEPOZLAN • 5,627 FT

Transport to the quiet and restorative mountain village of Tepozlan. Here we stay at a private hacienda for the next two nights.

Our focus during this time centers on reflection and application of our experience in the mountains. We are supported by a private chef onsite.

DAY 6  TEPOZLAN • 5,627 FT

Tepozlan is the perfect village for our integration day – nestled amongst towering limestone cliffs we will spend the day connecting the lessons learned through our adventures and expedition through reflection, embodiment practices, 1:1 accountability partnership, and short-term goal setting. We conclude the day with an intentional sunset hike to an ancient site in the foothills.

DAY 7  TEPOZLAN TO MEXICO CITY • 5,627 FT

A slow morning wake-up in Tepozlan – we depart this idyllic haven mid-morning for flights home out of Mexico City.
