OVERVIEW

The Joshua Tree experience is one of vast desert transformation, unpredictable weather, and mind altering sunsets.

The Joshua Tree wilderness area is most notably characterized by, you guessed it, Joshua Trees...(actually a Yucca species, a desert succulent)...you have entered a Dr. Seuss dreamland of massive granite domes and a mountain environment like none other.

This landscape is infamous for offering a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and transporting you into a focused, relaxed, and attuned mindset.

Within this 3 day rock climbing adventure, we will work to develop focus, embrace challenge, and leverage vertical movement on rock to increase our awareness and clarity within ourselves and the world around us.

EXPEDITION itinerary

DAY 0 Check-In Day • Joshua Tree, CA

We will all arrive at our Air BnB in Joshua Tree (15 minutes from the National Park) by 5PM for dinner, drinks, and gear preparation. 

DAY 1 Intro Day • Climbing Skills & Movement

Our day will begin with hot coffee and a full breakfast at our desert Air BnB. Mid-morning, we will travel into the park where we will begin to develop a base understanding of climbing systems, gear, and terminology. In the afternoon, we will practice and get comfortable with basic climbing movements and techniques for fighting gravity. This will be a very full day of learning and active movement. 

DAY 2  Technique & Mental Work

Our day begins with a full breakfast and coffee at the Air BnB. We spend the majority of daylight hours in the park, working on climbing techniques and practicing methods for mental durability. Rock climbing is an activity that demands the full attention of both mind and body. This day will involve pushing your body/mind collectively, embracing fear, and developing physiological methods for engaging and activating the parasympathetic nervous system.  

DAY 3  Multi-Pitch Climb Day

On day 3, we will combine all that we have learned the previous days and climb a multi-pitch route within the park. This route will, undoubtedly, put your body and mind to the test. By now, you will feel prepared to put your climbing techniques into use, refine your rope management skills, and overcome any fears of failure or falling. Day 3 is an earned experience that you won’t soon forget!
