No. 2
Highest peak in the Americas

22,615 ft
Highest volcano on earth

It is the highest volcano in the world and the second-highest summit in the Western Hemisphere, and it stands taller than every mountain in North America, Denali included. From the top, the Atacama Desert runs to the horizon in every direction: salt flats, turquoise lagoons, and a dozen other 20,000-foot peaks that almost nobody has heard of. There is a crater lake just below the summit. It is probably the highest lake on the planet.

The expedition runs two weeks because acclimatization runs two weeks. We climb two smaller peaks first, sleep ten nights at 14,400 feet in our private basecamp beside Laguna Verde, and give your body the time it needs before we go for the summit. Your phone will spend most of that time in a duffel bag. By the second week, the life you left at the airport will feel a long way off, and that distance is a big part of why men come. The ten months of coaching before departure are what make sure you arrive ready to use it.

Men who do this tend to say the same thing afterward: the trip was the easy part to explain. What shifted in them is harder, and it lasts. The second half of life looks different from 22,000 feet, and this expedition is built around that.
There is a mountain on the border of Chile and Argentina that rises out of the driest desert on earth to 22,615 feet.
Higher than Denali, emptier than Everest, and almost no one has heard of it..

You want to climb a remote peak most people will never see, stand at 22,000 feet on the second-highest summit in the Western Hemisphere, and feel the months of effort pay off at once. And you want to do it with seven other men who chose the same thing and a coach who climbed it beside you.

04

You are in the middle of your life and the first-half playbook has stopped working. You built a career and a family and did it well, and somewhere in there you stopped doing the things that made you feel alive. You want that back, and you are done waiting for a convenient year.

03

You want two weeks somewhere that looks like nowhere you have been: high desert, salt flats, wind, and a night sky that makes your problems the right size.

02

You have already stood on a summit of 14,400 feet or higher, whether Kilimanjaro, Rainier, Orizaba, or Whitney, and you know the feeling it gave you has a shelf life. You want the next rung, and you want to have to earn it. That prior summit is the bar for joining this team.

This is Built For You If...

Is This For You?

Ten private 1:1 sessions from enrollment through departure, two full-cohort group calls at twelve weeks out and two weeks out, and a post-expedition integration session in March 2028. Every session is expedition-specific: physical readiness, mental preparation, and the intention-setting that separates a great trip from a defining one. Begin when you enroll. Early entry means a fuller, more spacious arc.
The Program is a Year.
The expedition is fifteen days.
Name what you're carrying up. Decide what comes back down.
It is 3 a.m. at 19,000 feet with a headache and eight hours to go, and the mountain does not care who you were in the valley.
Training gets you fit. The coaching gets you ready.
The mountain will surface what flatland lets you avoid. Better to know before you go.
The decision to climb the highest volcano on earth starts long before you land in Chile.

The summit is decided in the ten months before you fly, in the training you put in and the questions you answer along the way. Ten private 1:1 coaching sessions, from the day you enroll through the week before departure, are about one thing: arriving in Chile as the man you intend to be instead of the one the last few years produced.

The expedition gives you the summit. The preparation decides what it means. A final integration session after you are home makes sure what you found at altitude survives the first Monday back.

Enroll now and begin immediately. The expedition departs February 5, 2028, and the final day-by-day is confirmed with you at enrollment. Everything before departure is built around you.

The itinerary is built on a simple truth: you cannot rush 22,000 feet. The two summits that come first are part of the climb, and so are the ten nights at 14,400 feet, four of them rest days. That is how long the altitude needs to do its work, and how long the noise takes to fade. We stopped sleeping at the crowded public huts at 19,000 feet years ago. We sleep at 14,400 and climb from there.

No technical mountaineering experience is required. What we do require is a prior summit of 14,400 feet or higher, such as Kilimanjaro, Orizaba, Rainier, Whitney, or Elbrus, along with the fitness, the preparation, and a willingness to be pushed well past comfortable. Every man on this team has already climbed at altitude. The summit finishes with a short roped scramble; our guide team handles the rope. You handle everything else.

Most men spend years thinking about a trip like this. This one is designed for the man who finally stops thinking and goes.

Your Guide

Matt has led expeditions on every continent for 32 years, including twelve seasons in the Andes and climbs on the 8,000-meter peaks of the Himalaya, among them a solo ascent of Manaslu. He is a men's psychologist, the author of two bestselling books, and the host of the BBC's Adventure Calling.

On Ojos, Matt leads the team, the cohort, and the men's work, in partnership with a Chilean ground team that has supported climbs on this mountain for more than a decade: certified local guides, 4×4 logistics, basecamp operations, and rescue systems.

What sets his programs apart is what happens before and after the mountain. Over three decades he has watched men transform at altitude and then slide back into old patterns at home, and every program he builds is designed to close that gap. The inner work and the outer work are inseparable.
